The Woods started off slowly against Ash United last Saturday, but by the 20th minute they had got their game up and running. From then on, there looked to be only one winner, and that wasn’t Ash.
The Woods took the lead on the half hour mark when Harry Smart's effort was parried by the keeper and Laurie Walters, following up, had an easy goal. Half-time 1-0.
The Woods lost striker Courtney Francis to a leg injury in the 48th minute, and he was replaced by Douglas Kissuule. Kissuule's first touch earned Northwood a penalty, and Walters’ effort was saved by the goalie, only for the ball to go straight out to Kissuule, who made no mistake to put Northwood two up.
In the 68th minute a powerful run down the right by Danny Power led to Woods’ third goal. The full-back cut the ball back to Harry Smart, who fired home from eight yards out.
This was another convincing performance, keeping an unbeaten run going.
